Community guidelines

Short version: be straight with each other, and do the work you said you would.

For customers

  • Describe the job accurately, including the difficult parts.
  • Turn up, or cancel with enough notice that the slot can be filled.
  • Review honestly. A three-star review with a clear reason is more useful than a one-star with none.
  • Do not ask a professional to work undeclared or without an invoice.

For professionals

  • List only the languages you can genuinely hold a working conversation in. Overstating this is the fastest way to lose a customer's trust.
  • Quote what you will charge. If a price has to change, say so before the work continues.
  • Only claim qualifications you hold and can evidence.
  • Reply to enquiries, even if the answer is no.

Not allowed

  • Discrimination on the basis of nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability or sexual orientation.
  • Asking customers or friends to post reviews for work that did not happen.
  • Moving a conversation off-platform to avoid our safety and record-keeping tools during a dispute.
  • Contacting customers for anything other than the job they asked about.
